Caylee Anthony - Media reaching a boiling point?

Write up of prime time coverage of the Caylee Anthony case - the tide of media and public opinion continues to flow away from Casey Anthony and her attorneys.

DAN ABRAMS

Dan Abrams had Clint Van Zandt and Mike Walsh together tonight –Mike says the first time he saw the pictures of his client Casey at Fusian taken on June 20th was last night. (Bet that rocked his boat, huh? Another surprise via the media for the defense.) Mike wouldn’t classify what Casey had told authorities as “lies”, but instead as “ inaccurate statements.” (And the difference is?) Dan asks again about the photos and to confirm the date Caylee went missing, and Mike says that the information is for law enforcement. Clint Van Zandt unloaded and replied that he felt this is all a dodge: why can’t Mike Walsh and his client sit down with authorities and just tell the truth - specifically since Mike stated on 1 of last evening’s shows there’s more than 1 kidnapper? Clint wants to get this “gang of kidnappers” off the street, doesn’t Mike? Mike Walsh retorted they should come on down to the office and “we’ll do it tonight.”

Attorney Mike, who specializes in appeals, appears so out of his element although he is way more believable than Jose Baez. Clint’s not in a very good mood; he points out that Casey has not started a conversation we’ve heard with **anyone** by asking about her daughter. Mike then proceeds to elaborate on how law enforcement is focused on investigating his client, rather than finding Caylee – a discourse that was interrupted repeatedly by furious head –shaking (the negative kind) and the general “you must be nuts” kind of sighing from the other members of the panel. Gotta say, it’s pretty bad when the media is even getting annoyed and frustrated with Casey and her attorneys.

Dan played the clip of the former jail inmate who professes to have asked Casey about her daughter. The jail did confirm that he walked by her jail cell, and when told this, Mike insists that men and women are handled differently in the jail and the inmate is lying. He’s also just accused Casey’s ex-boyfriend Jesse Grund, who has told police Casey is a habitual liar, of having “psychological issues.” (HUGE mistake by Mike Walsh. Jesse’s report to police is part of the arrest affidavit. We predict Jesse’s father is going to have a FIT.) Clint reiterates that this woman (Casey) is narcissist and he’s never seen nor heard anything like this.

Clint and Mike got into a pissing match at the end: Mike invited Clint to come down out of retirement and help solve the case and Clint shot that out of the air; when Mike mentioned perhaps Clint would like to help waterboard Casey, Clint told him that he (Mike) looked like he had the corner on that. Good God a’Mighty.

Looks like no active physical search by law enforcement or by the Anthony family: Fox News calls to the FBI investigator on the case reveal neither Casey’s attorneys nor the Orange County Sherriff’s department has requested their involvement (i.e., to talk to Casey.) They’re standing by. BTW, Fox is reporting that the jail inmate’s story, per the Sherriff’s department, appears bogus.

Meanwhile, a DJ at Fusian gave a statement to Fox News today that Mike Walsh did not represent Casey’s supposed employment as a promo girl there correctly the night before. The Fusian DJ states that he knows she was there partying on June 20th, knows Casey’s boyfriend and, the DJ was living with him and Casey until the end of June. The last 2 weeks of June he says that Caylee was not with Casey, and Casey said she was with the nanny or the grandparents and he’s reported this to authorities right after the story broke. Guess who is on this program right after being on Abrams? You got it--Mike Walsh. He’s complaining he doesn’t have this information (you got it dude, you don’t) and is only getting it as he hears it from the media. He invites everyone with pictures to give them to HIM so he can get to the bottom of them. (WHY, oh WHY is he not asking his client for it, since they’re on Flickr and linked to via MySpace pages????) Mike still will not confirm dates Caylee went missing and he is trying to collect Casey’s phone records so they can verify numbers and find the nanny. He’s still on the road where Casey is the ultimate focus of the law enforcement investigation rather than finding Caylee. After 2 nights of getting head-whacked with information that his client has NOT supplied him, this guy has to wonder what the hell Jose Baez has got him into.

This family is so full of bs, they know what their daughter is like and seems to be a straight up party girl, who probably disposed of poor caylee so she did not have to bother finding a NANNY anymore and she could club every night if she wanted to from now on what a bad mother to let her little girl out of her sight with strangers if that is what she did

Even worse, she could have given/left Caylee with her mom and still live the party lifestyle she wanted. But Casey is so selfish and self-centered she needs everybody to like her best. So she gets mad at her mom for favoring Caylee over her, and maybe after she took Caylee away got mad at Caylee for missing her grandma...and did something disastrous like shake her or choke her...resulting in poor Caylee's demise
