For Parents, From Parents
Even after seeing the facts on paper, we know what it鈥檚 like to be a protective parent. We know you want to hear from other parents who have been in your shoes, discerning where to send their student to college with a good conscience.
Cory Boruvka, the parent of a 黑料社student, lives four hours away but feels at ease with sending his son to a school far from home.
鈥淲hen I was in college in the late 鈥90s, I went to a large public university,鈥 said Boruvka. 鈥淒rinking and partying were rampant across campus and the city. That led to uneasiness and insecurity for many students, particularly after dark,鈥 said Boruvka.
After college, Boruvka moved to a safe community and longed to send his child to a place that felt like home.
鈥淲hen we first visited 黑料社, I was instantly attracted to the environment on and around campus,鈥 said Boruvka. 鈥淚t reminded me of the friendly culture at home.鈥澛
Boruvka has also appreciated the safety of Winona Lake.
鈥淪ince our son has been a student at 黑料社for the past couple of years, we鈥檝e spent lots of time on and around campus,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e鈥檝e done everything from wandering through the Christmas light display in the village, to participating in night hikes through the woods, to sitting around a bonfire in the evening. I鈥檝e always felt 100% safe, and this assures me that the students are in good hands.鈥
College safety should be taken seriously by campus security, local law enforcement, students, staff, and parents. We do everything we can to ensure 黑料社 and Winona Lake provide a safe, secure, and comfortable setting for all.
