Department of Justice Missing Person's site and Lighting the Way Home on Websleuths

******Edited because of apparent confusion of whether these 2 resources are linked. (They are not) The post was just supposed to list out 2 resources for the families of the missing, that's it. I never really thought that the Department of Justice and their links could be confused with something in a forum on Websleuths.

Original post below. With my comments, since this has been critiqued much more than is needed. Here is the concerns surrounding Lighting the Way Home (TheDailyBS.com) and here is the cut and paste job from the original post into NowPublic.com's site. Websleuths has set up a resource depository and there is much more information there on many other sites and databases for the missing.

Lighting the Way Home is the dedicated forum for resources for the missing. The amount of information already there is astounding.

Information like the links below (keyword: LIKE) are all located together in the Lighting the Way Home forum so families and others have one central place to get all the information they need to start or continue the search for friends and loved ones.

Colton Pitonyak arrested and in custody for the murder of Jennifer Cave

Colton Pitonyak was tracked by calls he made on his cell phone to Mexico. No motive or confession for the murder of Jennifer Cave are listed in the article. It appears that she had dinner with him and then went back to his apartment. It may have been their first date or just a dinner. We would still expect to see some kind of arrest of Lauren Hall who accompanied Pitonyak while he fled to Mexico.

Pitonyak headed to Austin for booking-News 8 Austin A University of Texas student charged with killing an acquaintance and mutilating her body was arrested Tuesday in Eagle Pass.

U.S. marshals arrested Colton Pitonyak, 22, after he was turned over by Mexican authorities.

Pitonyak is on his way to Austin with authorities to face a murder charge for the death of Jennifer Cave, 21. Her mutilated body was found in Pitonyak's apartment last Thursday.

"In my seven, almost eight years in Austin, this is probably one of the more brutal homicides, although all homicides are terrible incidents. I'm glad this individual is off the streets of Austin," Austin Police Chief Stan Knee said.

An arrest warrant for Pitonyak shows Cave had just met him, and they had dinner on Tuesday evening.

Pitonyak fled Austin with Laura Hall, 22, who was with him when he was arrested. She has not been charged.

Investigators believe the pair drove Hall’s car to Piedras Negras, Mexico, on Friday. Overnight, Mexican agents found her Cadillac at a Piedras Negras hotel.

2nd Arrest Imminent in Latoyia Figueroa Murder

If this investigation had not caught Stephen Poaches when it did, there could have been a 3rd victim. Stephen has confessed to the crime and has given his motive.

Another Figueroa Arrest Imminent-6abc.com PHILADELPHIA-August 23, 2005 - Investigators now say Latoyia Figueroa's ex-boyfriend killed her because she wouldn't end her pregnancy and another person will soon be arrested in connection with the crime.

Twenty-five-year-old Stephen Poaches was arrested over the weekend.
Sources say he has confessed to killing Figueroa and her unborn child. In the confession, Poaches allegedly says he strangled the 24-year-old woman in a rage when she told him she did not believe in abortion.

Police say another man helped Poaches dispose of the body. Now, detectives say they're close to arresting that other man. Investigators also say Poaches told them he was thinking about murdering another man - a man he asked to help move the body over the weekend. Instead, that man tipped off police to the location of Figueroa's body.

MSNBC is running the Latoyia Figueroa as their top story of the morning and are applying many resources to it. Also after each update on this case they give Amanda Jones some coverage as well.

Stephen Pouches was never involved in any searches and has been charged with 2 counts of murder. Clint Van Zandt will be on MSNBC to add analysis on the case. It is also being reported that police were trailing Stephen and he was caught trying to conceal or move the body. Pennslyvania does have the death penalty as well but seems to keep people on death row, rather than enforce it. There are currently 221 convicts on death row in PA. In 1978 the death penalty was reenacted, PA has executed 3 since then. The first was in 1995, the last was in 1999 all 3 waived their appeals.

PHILADELPHIA - The remains of a missing pregnant woman was recovered, and a person has been taken into custody in the case, police said Saturday.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson said Stephen Roaches has been arrested for the murder of 24-year-old LaToyia Figueroa, whose disappearance had gained national media attention.

Johnson identified Roaches as Figueroa's ex-boyfriend.
