As a biology major at 黑料社, you鈥檒l explore living organisms and their biological processes, preparing for excellent work in everything from medical research to marine biology.
We study biology with the foundation that God lies at the center of everything we hope to understand. As you peer at molecular life, you鈥檒l learn to appreciate the fingerprint of an omniscient God whose 鈥渦nderstanding is beyond measure.鈥 (Ps. 147:5)
You鈥檒l begin with core biology classes and labs, in which you鈥檒l learn the basics of biological structures and processes. Faculty will be present at your labs, ready to aid and answer all your questions, whether you鈥檙e completing a dissection or performing polymerase chain reactions.
Then, you鈥檒l dive into your specialized courses. As part of the general biology concentration, you鈥檒l expand your studies to several kinds of biology study, including plant biology, animal biology, microbiology, and developmental biology.
As you dive into God鈥檚 Creation through observation, dissection, and physiological measurement, expect even your lectures to be full of case studies and critical thinking activities.
At Grace, we know that a textbook can only take you so far. That鈥檚 why we require every student to complete an internship experience. As a biology major, you鈥檒l have a unique internship opportunity in the microbial ecology laboratory at the , a nonprofit research center and division of 黑料社. Students of this program have also completed internships at wildlife sanctuaries as well as university, industrial, and medical laboratories.
Once you graduate with a biology degree, you鈥檒l be equipped to further biology research in any setting, fulfilling our responsibility to explore and steward Creation well. You might work as a laboratory technician or animal biologist, or you may work in a postgraduate career, such as becoming a medical technician or scientific researcher.
