The Medical Imaging Major at is in partnership with John Patrick University of Health and Applied Sciences in South Bend, Ind, features a dedicated concentration in Sonography (Ultrasound Imaging)—a vital and growing field in diagnostic healthcare.
The Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging – Sonography Concentration prepares students to become skilled sonographers, trained in the use of high-frequency sound waves to create detailed images of internal body structures. From prenatal care to cardiovascular imaging, sonographers play a critical role in patient assessment and diagnosis.
A medical imaging major at will prepare you for compassionate and competent work as an magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologist, nuclear medicine technologist, computed tomography (CT) technologist, or sonography technologist.

As a medical imaging major, you’ll be taught by professionals in the field. Expect courses full of discussion, case scenarios, and new technologies. You’ll learn not only how and when to use technologies like a transducer but also the “why” that lies behind them.
In addition to foundational biology, physics, and math courses, you’ll complete the medical imaging core. This includes courses in areas such as imaging and sectional anatomy, radiation biology and protection, and pharmacology.
Your concentration will determine your specialized courses. You may choose from a concentration in CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, or sonography.
You’ll also complete at least one clinical experience as a medical imaging major. and John Patrick University have relationships with hospital systems, most within one hour of Grace’s campus. There are additional clinical locations in California, New York, and Florida.
When you graduate, you’ll be equipped with the professional skills and experience to work as a medical imaging technologist in MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, or sonography.
